Drew Foust & the Slim Pickins to perform at CHDDA Charlotte Half-Mile

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 15, 2016) – What’s a great party without great music? Thanks to Select Cycle Motorcycles in Greensboro, the CHDDA Charlotte Half-Mile has lined up a North Carolina favorite. Burlington’s Drew Foust & the Slim Pickins makes great music and if you have an ear for Blues, Folk, Roots-Rock or Americana they put on a memorable show.

Performing live in the Fan Zone at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway from 2:30-5:30 p.m. on race day, Saturday, July 30, they are just one more reason to “Come for the party and stay for the race.”

“Helping kick up the show with music at the Charlotte Half-Mile this year just made sense, and lucky for us all, Drew Foust & the Slim Pickins was available,” said John Hill, Owner of Select Cycle. “Plus, we get to show off some of the seven world class motorcycle and scooter brands our dealership offers to the AMA Pro Flat Track world, as well as be a part of some of the greatest racing anywhere on the planet.”

On-track activity is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. when the stars of AMA Pro Flat Track’s Harley-Davidson GNC1 presented by Vance & Hines and GNC2 classes kick off the day with a more mechanical type of music - timed practice. On track sessions will coincide with the concert, scheduled to end at 5:30 p.m., providing ample time for music loving patrons to catch a few sets, check out the stunt show, vintage motorcycle display, food trucks, craft beers and vendors and still exit the Fan Zone with time to return to their seats for the night’s Opening Ceremonies at 6:00 p.m.

“The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway prides itself on always offering the best entertainment value so being able to include this quality of musical entertainment in the ticket price thanks to Select Cycle is a bonus for us as well as the fans,” said Cameron Gray, COO of AFT Events. “Skyler Drew Foust and his band are a great fit for our fans and we’re very fortunate to team up with Select Cycle to make this happen.”

In addition to the concert, DJ Scott Beaty will be playing music inside the stadium beginning at 2:00 p.m. Beaty has performed at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the last 25 years, as well as other major sporting events such as the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four, NBA All-Star Weekend and several others.
