(October 9, 2012) - Celtic Orient Express Racing's James Rispoli won his second AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport National Championship this weekend at the 2012 season finale at New Orleans Motorsports Park. Rispoli dominated the 2012 SuperSport field with eight race wins over twenty races and sixteen podiums total, earning a comfortable points lead before this weekend's events. Rispoli qualified in second position for both races, and showed good speed and control all weekend. Rispoli would only need to finish in seventh place or better on Saturday to clinch the championship in both the Overall and West series. A second red flag on Saturday ended the race early, with Rispoli in fourth after battling for second most of the way. In race two on Sunday, Rispoli already held the championships in hand, but put in a determined effort to finish the season on the podium - taking third place on the #1 Celtic Orient Express Racing Suzuki GSX-R 600. Teammate Corey Alexander was unable to attend the event at New Orleans after sustaining a fracture to his right leg in a training accident only one week before. Corey will finish the SuperSport East Championship in fifth position after a very competitive season with some strong results that shows his determination and drive.
The entire Celtic Racing team congratulates James Rispoli for his great results and amazing back-to-back championships in the AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport class! James' hard work and enthusiasm for racing was infectious and brought the team tightly together by the end of the season. Everyone would also like to thank all of the great sponsors and supporters who made the 2012 season and SuperSport Championship possible for James and Celtic Racing - without your help, none of this would have been possible!
James was very excited and pleased to state that "I can't even explain how happy I am with how things worked out this year! I went into Daytona kinda iffy about even having a ride this year, and then to have all the people around me making sacrifices to keep me racing all season, it feels so amazing to give them something to remember. This year has been a dream year for us, we've had some hard fought wins and some losses that really groomed our team into a family. We all put 100 percent into these Championships and that's what I needed the most to make this Championship happen. Big shout out to everyone behind the scenes who made this year happen. Whatever the future holds, I will definitely remember this year with these great and amazing people! Thanks to everyone in my life that keep me straight, and working hard on the right path! I'm just ecstatic! Many thanks to AGV Helmets, Dainese Leathers, Monster Energy, Techmount, and DAO Defy All Odds Apparel, who helped me get here and earn my second AMA Championship!"
