The AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series provides a highly-competitive, low-cost racing platform based on a carefully-designed rule set which keeps the motorcycles as evenly matched as possible. Formerly known as the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series, this incredibly exciting class is now known as the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series thanks to a renewed partnership with Vance & Hines and a new agreement with the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. The class, which joined the AMA Pro Road Racing class structure in 2010, features Harley-Davidson XR1200s modified with a special parts and accessories kit from famed motorcycle performance tuner Vance & Hines.
The inclusion of the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series in the AMA Pro Road Racing fold creates an opportunity for riders to take part in one of the most cost-effective platforms for racing on the national stage. The 2013 season was incredibly competitive and proved the importance of the class. The commercial interest in the class continues to grow as well, with a large number of Harley-Davidson dealerships supporting race teams and riders of the series through sponsorship.
Although the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series is the newest addition to AMA Pro Road Racing -- with 2014 marking just the fifth season of competition for the spec-based class -- its fan interest and popularity with riders continues to increase year-by-year.
