WYMAN: Ready for Daytona

NEWS February 11, 2011

Well, It’s been a couple months since I’ve updated my blog, but that’s just because not much has changed! I’m still patiently waiting for Daytona to roll around, but finally the start of the season is within a month and things are starting to roll along.

Up here in the cold state of New York we’ve definitely had our share of snow, so the majority of my training has either been indoors or the occasional run outside when I’m feeling gutsy. I’ve been playing racquetball at the local YMCA which has been a great workout. I’ve also been watching races from last year’s BSB XR1200 Trophy cup to keep motivated while I ride my bicycle trainer.

For 2011, I will have the first opportunity of my career to compete for a national championship at the pro level in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 series. For the first time I’m lucky enough to be able to compete in every round of the series and take an honest run at an AMA Pro title. I will be racing the No. 33 RMR/Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Racing XR1200 for the year, and I just can’t wait to kick of the season. I had a lot of fun in the new class in 2010, and it’s looking to be a very competitive series for 2011.

I want to take the time to thank the sponsors that are returning from last year, and a couple new sponsors that have stepped up to help out my program. For the Richie Morris Racing, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Racing team, Revolution Performance has agreed to support the team again for 2011 as well as Geico Powersports and Lucas Oil. Race Tech is coming back with all new components for our suspension program this year and EBC brakes has returned to help us get these big Harley’s slowed down at the end of the straights!

I am very happy to be back with Arai Helmets this year. They have been keeping me safe since I was 13 years old in the flat track days. This year I will be wearing Pilot Leathers as well, who will keep me safe from neck to toe. I have also gained support from Motion Pro and Kicker Performance Audio to round out my package for 2011. It’s a great feeling to have so many supporters behind me!

So for now I’ll keep getting physically and mentally prepared for the season. Only 28 days until race time!
