Track - 2013 - Barber Motorsports Park
NEWS February 27, 2013
Motorcycle and motorsports enthusiasts in the Southeast will be pleased to know that the series will be returning to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama for a full weekend of SuperBike racing scheduled for June 21-23, 2013. With immaculate grounds and fan-friendly viewing areas complemented by giant art sculptures that are strategically placed throughout the facility, this is one of the most interesting tracks in the country to visit. As if the racing action wasn’t enough, the historic venue is also home to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum which contains over 750 vintage and modern motorcycles for avid race fans to take in over the course of the weekend.
Last year’s race saw Josh Hayes, on the back of his Yamaha R1, dominate both AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike races. Cameron Beaubier took a liking to his visit to the southeast, as the Californian took both AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike races. Beaubier’s first win was a lot closer than his second, which he won by a mere .242 seconds over a charging Dane Westby. Jake Lewis and James Rispoli both claimed victories in Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport and fan favorite Kyle Wyman took the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series victory.
