Track - 2013 - New Jersey Motorsports Park

NEWS February 28, 2013

When the series rolls into Millville, N.J. on the weekend of September 13-15, 2013, GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing will be returning to New Jersey Motorsports Park for the fifth consecutive year of hugely successful SuperBike racing. The 2.2-mile, 14-turn natural road course has been a battlefield for competitors since the gorgeous grounds were added to the schedule in 2009, the track’s second year of operation.
Josh Hayes made headlines all year long in 2012 and the New Jersey Motorsports Park event weekend didn’t warrant any exception, as he swept the weekend for two more AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike uncontested victories. Hayes simply dominated, winning both races by a total of more than 20 seconds. The Mississippian will look to repeat in 2013 as he has certainly shaped up to be an icon in the sport of road racing, particularly in New Jersey.
In AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike competition, Cameron Beaubier and Martin Cardenas found themselves in common territory atop the podium, each collecting a win as the battle for the Championship grew even more intense.
James Rispoli dominated on Saturday to claim yet another AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport victory in race one. He was on his way to win the second race but Dustin Dominguez slipped by, beating his rival by a scant .013 seconds. Shane Narbonne broke past what seemed to be an unbeatable AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series trio of winners (Kyle Wyman, Tyler O’Hara and Michael Barnes) to become just the fourth victor in 2013 with an impressive victory of his own.
