UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (August 23, 2012) - Team Ohio Racing announces that it has joined with AMA Pro Racer Aaron Borello and Twisted Speed Racing to support their #911 Air Ground Xpress Harley-Davidson XR1200 entry at New Jersey Motorsports Park for the American Red Cross Devils Showdown presented by Team ProMotion August 7-9.
Pete Cline, Team Ohio Racing’s owner and rider, is unable to compete on his #26 XR1200 due to injury. Although the Team Ohio Racing is actively seeking team partners and a replacement rider for the New Jersey round, working with the #911 Air Ground Xpress Harley-Davidson allows the Wounded Warrior Project Alumni crew project to continue.
“Team Ohio Racing’s Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Alumni crew concept is too important to be put on hold. Even though I can’t race, no there is no reason why we can’t continue forward. Borello contacted me right after Indy, he needed a crew, and the WWP really sees value in this project. So the WWP will get four alumni from New Jersey area” stated Cline. “These warriors will be active like any other weekend we have had them; changing wheels, fueling the Twisted Speed Racing XR1200, working the pit board and any other work needed by the team.”
Cline went on to add “We still want to fill the seat on our RacerRuss Harley-Davidson XR1200. And to do that we need sponsors. Our relationship with Aaron allows our team concept be on the grid. If we get sponsors for our bike, then we’ll put warriors on that team. We have enough warrior personnel to cover two teams, and riders that want to twist that XR throttle. To field our XR, we need companies that value veterans to step up and put their money on the table. ”
Borello commented, “When I found out that I had the opportunity to partner with Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Alumni at NJMP I was excited and honored. These warriors were willing to sacrifice everything for our country and having them support the #911 Air Ground Xpress Harley-Davidson is simply awesome!
Borello continued, “Although Pete is hurt he is still keeping his goals in mind and continuing the WWP to help our soldiers. I am looking forward to meeting the crew at NJMP and having a successful and fun race weekend. I am also looking forward to seeing Pete on the track again soon and thank him again for giving me this opportunity. All of us at Twisted Speed Racing wish Pete a fast recovery.”
