July 25, 2013 - Pilot Travel Center’s Racing Team’s Reese Wacker #78 had an outstanding performance this past weekend at round five of the AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Race held at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, CA, July 19-21.

The entire team was excited and anxious upon arrival, as this was the first time experiencing the track. Another obstacle included the compressed schedule for the weekend with only one race instead of the usual two races since the AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Race was combined with the MotoGP races for the weekend.
The first qualifying session set the course for the weekend with a successful result. Final qualifying resulted with placement of 17th on the grid.

At the start of the race, Reese got a great shot off the line allowing him to gain valuable positions. Wacker battled for positions up to the finish line capturing fourteenth place with a .001 second gap from thirteenth.

“The track was a very demanding and remarkable track. It was a great experience racing after MotoGP.” commented Wacker, “Thank you to Pilot Travel Centers, Smith Transport, and all of my sponsors for making our journey across the United States a wonderful experience. We got to stop at many of the Pilot Flying J Travel Centers throughout the country.” The Pilot Travel Centers Racing team is enthusiastic for the upcoming race at Miller Motorsports Park in August.

After Round Five, Reese Wacker currently sits fifteenth overall in points in the AMA Pro National Guard Superbike class.
