Morgan Hill, Calif. (July 28, 2014) - Meen Motorsports mourns the loss of their AMA Pro SuperSport rider Erick Yahir Sanchez, who suffered a fatal motorcycle racing accident in Hidalgo, Mexico on the afternoon of July 27, 2014.
In conjunction with his commitments riding with Meen Motorsports for the AMA Pro SuperSport championship, Sanchez continued his own privateer efforts in his home country of Mexico, racing his personal equipment at local and national race circuits. Sanchez had qualified on pole position on Saturday for the fourth installment of the MexBike Championship at the autodromo Moises Solana in Pachuca with the main race taking place on Sunday.
"A breath of fresh air in the AMA Pro paddock, Yahir always had a smiling attitude towards racing and life in general. I loved how he would always show up saying, 'BUDDY TODAY I GO FULL GAS!' His contagious laugh was always present under our team canopy and will truly be missed. It was a privilege to be part of this talented young man's life and to have shared many great moments with him and his family at the track. The Sanchez family will always be part of the Meen Motorsports racing family. Our deepest condolences go out to his, mother, father and brother at this heartbreaking time," states Meen Motorsports team owner Ameen Sajjadi.
Services for Erick Yahir Sanchez will take place today, Monday July 28, 2014 in hometown of Mexico City at the funeral home Gayosa en Felix Cuevas Y Gabriel Mancera, EJE 7 Sur 810 Colonia del Valle, Mexico D.F.
