Career Highlights
2010 -
Hopkins eared fifth place finishes in Race Two at Auto Club and both Road Atlanta rounds before undergoing wrist surgery.
2009 -
After Kawasaki withdrew from MotoGP, Hopkins raced for Stiggy Racing Honda in World Superbike. Injuries slowed his charge and he missed much of the year.
2008 -
Finished 16th in MotoGP after sustaining injuries in a crash at
Assen. Raced for Factory Kawasaki.
2007 -
Ended his sixth MotoGP season
in fourth place in the point standings, earning a podium finish in
China.
2006 -
Finished tenth overall in the point standings in his fifth
MotoGP season and earned a pole in China. His best results were fourth
place finishes in China and Catalunya. Raced for Rizla Suzuki.
2005 -
Competed for Suzuki in MotoGP. Briefly led the Donington race and
finished fifth in Japan, finishing 14th in the point standings.
2004 -
In his second MotoGP season with Suzuki, machine issues held Hopkins
back. Qualified on the front row at Motegi.
2003 - Was drafted for the Suzuki factory team in MotoGP. Although bike issues hurt him in the points standings, he beat veteran teammate and former World Champion Kenny Roberts, Jr.
2002 -
Joined the Red Bull Yamaha team and raced a
two-stroke machine against many four-strokes in his first year of MotoGP
racing.
2001 - Hopkins won the AMA Formula Xtreme title for Team Valvoline Suzuki.
2000 - Won the AMA 750 Supersport title for Team Valvoline Suzuki.
